Rural Nebraska's use of artificial intelligence has doubled since 2024, with 55% of respondents to the annual Nebraska Rural Poll reporting they have used AI tools, up from 27% two years earlier. Younger respondents aged 19 to 39 and those with higher education and incomes were most likely to have adopted the technology. Despite growing usage, many rural Nebraskans remain cautious about AI's reliability and express strong interest in learning about privacy protection, accuracy evaluation, bias detection and ethical use.
