Rhode Island Launches New Program to Cover Lab and Office Costs for Up to Eight Life Science Startups

Rhode Island's Life Science Hub launched the Founders Compass Program on August 25, 2026, offering up to eight early-stage biotech startups rent-free laboratory and office space for 12 months at Ocean State Labs. The program, funded with $250,000 and operated in partnership with Portal Innovations, provides selected companies with wet lab benches, dedicated desks, equipment, and advisory support. Applicants from anywhere in the U.S. and internationally may apply through September 24, 2026, provided they commit to operating in Rhode Island.
