Agentic AI—autonomous systems that reason, act and coordinate across workflows—is moving beyond chatbots into federal government operations, according to Karim Fadel. The Department of Housing and Urban Development has deployed agents in call centers to transcribe tenant calls, categorize requests and analyze sentiment to improve service; NASA used agents to synthesize complex technical data for the Artemis 2 flight readiness assessment. Unlike traditional AI tools that respond to user queries, agentic systems hand off tasks between multiple agents, significantly boosting efficiency and productivity across government workflows.
