The U.S. Government Banned TikTok. Now It’s Back

The U.S. Department of Justice cleared TikTok for use on federal government devices, reversing a years-long ban imposed across federal agencies. The reversal comes after state-level bans on TikTok for government use accumulated pressure, following President Trump's 2020 executive order targeting the app's U.S. advertising operations and President Biden's subsequent reversal of that order.
