Houston hospitals test patient-focused AI technology

Houston Methodist and other major health systems across the city are deploying artificial intelligence and sensor technologies to improve patient care and reduce staff workload. New tools include MyChart Bedside, which turns patient room screens into digital whiteboards and virtual nurse portals; Aidoc, an AI imaging platform that flags radiological concerns; and BioButton biosensors that continuously monitor vital signs, reducing the need for four-hourly bedside checks. The technologies aim to free clinicians for direct patient care while improving patient experience and enabling earlier detection of potential health complications.
