The Center for Teaching Excellence navigates the rise of AI use in education

The University's Center for Teaching Excellence is leading institutional efforts to help faculty adapt to artificial intelligence in classrooms through its Faculty AI Guides program, a joint initiative with the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost. The 2025-26 cohort includes 27 professors across all schools who undergo year-long monthly training, then host departmental events to help colleagues navigate AI integration. CTE Director Michael Palmer said the program ensures discipline-specific guidance, while participants like Assistant Professor David Singerman and Associate Professor Tessa Farmer cited the program as essential for understanding AI's role in curricula and teaching methods.
