India’s Cockroach movement protesters show no sign of backing down

Thousands of protesters in Delhi demonstrated Tuesday against India's education system and demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a day after police used batons and teargas on more than 50,000 marchers, injuring about 60 people. The youth-led Cockroach Janta Party movement showed no sign of backing down despite the Monday violence, with demonstrators returning to the historic Jantar Mantar protest site. Police said they responded to agitation, but organizers and witnesses said officers carried out unprovoked attacks, including against women and children.
