T.J. Hughes, an undrafted college free agent from Michigan, will make his NHL debut on the Colorado Avalanche's opening night roster, head coach Jared Bednar confirmed Sunday. The 24-year-old from Hamilton, Ontario signed a one-year entry-level contract and impressed in preseason play with an assist and a hat trick in two games. Hughes will skate on the top power-play unit alongside Nathan MacKinnon, Gabe Landeskog, Martin Necas, and Cale Makar in Wednesday's season opener.
