Southland crime: Fraud scam in Palos Hills, swatting call in Tinley Park, and more

A Chicago Tribune crime roundup reported arrests across the South suburbs in late May and June on charges including drug possession with intent to deliver, residential trespass, drunken driving, aggravated assault, burglary, felony shoplifting, aggravated battery and counterfeit currency offenses. Notable cases included Leander Townsell, arrested with nearly 30 grams of crack cocaine in 40 packages; Eugene Ray Bones, charged with burglary and cannabis possession with intent to deliver; and Kenneth Fairley, accused of spitting on police officers. A $100 counterfeit bill was also used in a transaction at a Maple Street KFC.
