Southland crime: Carjacking in Hickory Hills, slots burglary in Mokena, and more

A carjacking suspect threatened an elderly disabled woman with a gun and physically assaulted her while attempting to steal her vehicle at a Chicago-area grocery store parking lot on Oct. 13, police said. Julianna A. Al Maghrabi, 20, of Chicago was arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking. The incident was among dozens of crimes reported across the Southland, including a burglary at a gas station in Mokena where four masked men used sledgehammers to smash video slot machines and steal cigarettes and cigars.
