WASHINGTON — The White House disclosed details Monday of President Donald Trump's Venezuela oil deal, granting the Pentagon a 35% stake in a joint venture with North American Blue Energy Partners and guaranteeing the State Department 20% of output at cost. The agreement gives the private company 100-year rights to 17 Venezuelan oil fields holding 65 billion barrels in proven reserves, with owner Alejandro Betancourt committing $100 billion in infrastructure investment. The Trump administration has touted the arrangement as a major Western Hemisphere energy development following the January military capture of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
