Southland crime: Gambling thefts near Frankfort, Monee; sex abuse in Lockport and Oak Lawn, and more

Chicago-area police reported multiple crimes in early August, including two gambling burglaries in Will County where thieves used sledgehammers to breach video slot machine locations near Frankfort and Monee within hours of each other. A Lockport man was charged with child sexual abuse material possession, and four Harvey residents faced armed violence and drug manufacturing charges after investigators seized 11 guns and narcotics. Other incidents included identity theft, armed robbery, weapons possession, and retail fraud across the region.
