The Walton family broke ground Friday on the Bentonville Institute of Technology, a 444,000-square-foot STEM university at the former Walmart Home Office site in Bentonville, Arkansas. The first undergraduate class of roughly 300 students is expected to begin in August 2029, with tuition fully covered initially. Danish architecture firm BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group is designing the campus in collaboration with Arkansas-based Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects; Dr. David Mazyck serves as inaugural president.
